1st WEEK OF LEARNING COMPUTER IN EDUCATION

First of all, I am very excited to post my very first entry on my own blog. Here I will share my experience on my study in computer in education and what I have learn so far from that course. Because we are living in an era where the technologies are getting more advanced and modern, we as a '"future teachers" need to have the skills in using these technologies in learning and teaching and be up-to-date with todays era.

During the first week of this course, me and my colleagues learn how to create our own personal formal email on Yahoo.com and Google.com. We also learn how to join a group on Yahoo and how to sign up on Facebook and create our own group on Facebook and Yahoo. This will be our very first assignment for the week.

The process of creating official Yahoo account,Yahoo group, Official Gmail account, facebook account and facebook group:

www.yahoo.com: ✓
To create an official Yahoo mail, first we have to SIGN UP for yahoo account. Then we have to name our Yahoo username and Yahoo mail web address based on our official name.







www.gmail.com: ✓
To create an official Gmail, it is actually nearly the same process as how we create our Yahoo account. The very first step that we should do was to SIGN UP for google mail account at www.gmail.com After that, we also have to name our gmail user name and gmail web address based on our official name.

At first I have a slight difficulties on how to change my username on my official yahoo account and also on my gmail account. But...with hard work and motivation, at last I can change it and succeeded. With a little bit of editing through *option* then click *Account*. After that, select *Yahoo! Mail* There I can change my yahoo account username.

After I finished creating my Yahoo account and Gmail account, I add my course lecturer which is also my course coordinator for computer in education subject.

Then, we also need to join my computer in education official course Yahoo group at http://group.yahoo.com/group/ge1155-2011. By joining this group, our lecturer can track and see our progress on our assignment. It is also where we can have a discussion between our classmates and to keep updated on our course. It is important for me and the rest of my classmates to keep on checking in this Yahoo group for updates and also to keep on tract in doing our assignments. It is also easier for us to interact with our lecturer if we have some problems in doing our assignments. In this group, we as student can explore through it. We were also been asked to discuss the differences of sending message using yahoo group and yahoo email.

The next step that I need to do is to create my own Yahoo group. To create my own yahoo group, I have to view my computer in education official course yahoo group (ge1155-2011), then from there, i can create my own yahoo group by clicking *Start a group*. Then I name my yahoo group based on my matric number and my group name. After finished creating it, I invite my lecturer, my group partner and my classmates into joining my group.

www.facebook.com: ✓

After I have created my official Yahoo account, Yahoo group and Gmail account, I proceed on creating my facebook account. By signing up on www.facebook.com, I officially have created my facebook account. My facebook username and my facebook web address are based on my official name.

On this website, we were also been asked to create an official group. The process of creating it is almost the same as creating a Yahoo group By clicking *create a group*, we have automatically have made our official facebook group. I have name my Yahoo group based on my matric number, my group name and my official name. Then, after I have finished creating my facebook account, i also add my lecturer and my partner into my facebook group.

After finishing creating our official Yahoo account, Google account and Facebook account, our lecturer also asked us to create our own signature in our Yahoo mail account and our google mail account.

To Create A Signature In Yahoo Account:

First step, go to option menu at the top of the Yahoo page. Then click *Mail options.*



Then, click *signature* on the mail option menu in the left side of the page. There you can start creating your own signature.






Below are the signature that I have created for my Yahoo mail account:

To Create A Signature In Gmail Account:

First, you have to go to your Gmail account (www.gmail.com). Then click on the gear picture menu on the top right side of the page. Next, click on *Mail settings*





After that, go to the signature section of the mail settings. There, you can start creating your signature for your gmail account.

Thus, this is the highlights of my 1st assignment in my computer in education topic.
